How it works

From a website to its funding history, in one request.

  1. Send a website

Any form of it works, from tryprofound.com to a full link. A name or a LinkedIn page also works for companies already on file.

    { "domain": "tryprofound.com" }
  2. Prova reads the sources

It finds the announcements, in English and other languages. Each one has to be about the same company, and copies of one press release count once.

Company newsPress wiresFilingsInvestor postsNews articlesFunding databases
  3. You get the rounds

Stage, amount, currency, date and investors, newest first. Each round is labeled with how it was checked.

    Series D, Sep 2026$180Mconfirmed
    Series C, Feb 2026$96Mconfirmed
    Series A, Jun 2025$20Mverified

Labeled, not guessed

Every round says how it was checked.

A funding number is only useful if you know where it came from. Prova labels each round, so your code can decide what to trust.

Missing facts stay empty. An amount is the new money raised, never a valuation or a total. If a round's amount wasn't disclosed, it is null.

Want the sources? Add "view": "full" to get each round's sources: the link, the date and the exact sentence that states it.

Questions

Good to know

Where does the data come from?

From the announcements themselves: company newsrooms and blogs, press wires, filings, investor posts and news articles, plus the funding databases Metal and Wikidata. Each round is labeled with the kind of source behind it.

What happens when Prova hasn't seen a company?

Send its website. Prova looks it up while you wait and usually answers in the same reply, in about 4 to 6 seconds. If it needs longer, the answer is pending: send the same request again a few seconds later. Pending is free.

Can I look a company up by name?

Yes, for companies already on file. When several companies share a name, the answer lists them with their websites so you can pick one. A website is the surest way, and the only one that works for a company Prova has never seen.

What if a company never raised money?

You get not_found with a short message saying why, and you are not charged.

How do I get an API key?

Email hi@cielpm.ai and we'll send you one. Every request carries the key, and the dashboard shows what you've spent today and this month.
